Mystic Fire, IVA Ink Distrib Deal

Mystic Fire Video and Island Visual Arts have signed a distribution agreement that also provides for co-production and joint acquisitions.

IVA will release Mystic Fire’s titles to the retail trade via Polygram Group Distribution.

The arrangement also calls for IVA to advance marketing funds to Mystic Fire, with both companies involved in marketing decisions.

Plans for co-production and joint acquisitions still are being firmed, but IVA prexy Liz Heller said the deal structure will be different for joint projects that IVA distributes.

In July, IVA will begin to promote Mystic Fire’s library of over 80 titles. Much of Mystic Fire’s library is being repriced from $39.95 to $29.95 and $19.95.
