Sure, kids like dinosaurs, but beyond that, premise doesn’t find far to go. Story is about Littlefoot (Gabriel Damon), an innocent dinosaur tyke who gets separated from his family and after a perilous journey finds them again in a new land.
In this case it’s a journey from a dried-up part of the land to another, known as the Great Valley, where the herds frolic in abundant greenery.
After Littlefoot’s mother dies, he has to make the journey alone, dodging hazards like earthquakes, volcanoes and a predatory carnivore named Sharptooth. Along the way, he pulls together a band of other little dinosaurs of different species who’ve been brought up not to associate with each other.
Idea develops that surviving in a changing environment depends on achieving unity among the species.
For the most part, pic is about as engaging as what’s found on Saturday morning TV.
