Emmannuelle, English-style, is wife to the French ambassador. She sleeps with most of London, from key government officials to servants, until an immigrant doctor restores hubby’s priapic power and all ends happily in the embassy bedroom.

Rude, rollicking fun, at a breathless pace, was the order of earlier Carry On days. This one is rude, certainly, but the relentless phallic innuendo is as labored as makers’ determination to show nothing to worry the censor. Leaden comic timing compares poorly with TV sitcoms which pic otherwise resembles in production values.
