The White Buffalo

Charles Bronson stars as Wild Bill Hickok, returned to the West to hunt down an albino buffalo that haunts his dreams. Will Sampson is an Indian who also must purge himself of some dishonor.

Production features arch scripting by Richard Sale (from his novel), stilted acting by the cast and forced direction by J. Lee Thompson.

The title beast looks like a hung-over carnival prize despite attempts at camouflage via hokey sound track noise, busy John Barry scoring, murky photography and fast editing.

The buffalo trackdown is actually more of a cheap writing hook, on which to hang a lot of dubious sociological gab between the players, than an outdoor adventure story.
