Juggernaut stars Richard Harris as an explosives demolition expert aboard Omar Sharif’s luxury liner where several bombs have been planted.
The action aboard the ship, to which Harris, David Hemmings and other demolition team members have been flown, alternates with land drama, where shipline executive Ian Holm, detective Anthony Hopkins (whose wife Caroline Mortimer and children are aboard the vessel), and others, attempt to locate the phantom bomber who calls himself Juggernaut in a series of telephone calls demanding a huge ransom.
At sea, Shirley Knight wanders in and out of scenes as a romantic interest for Sharif, while Roy Kinnear comes off best of the whole cast as a compulsively cheerful social director.
