The Wrecking Crew

Fourth in the Matt Helm series, The Wrecking Crew emerges as a very entertaining, relaxed spy comedy. It features Dean Martin, Elke Sommer, Nancy Kwan and Sharon Tate, the latter in a delightful comedy performance.

Nigel Green is the heavy, as mastermind of a gold theft. Sommer and Kwan are his principal aides, while Tate is a British agent in support of Martin’s work. You wouldn’t know it, though, because Tate keeps aborting Martin’s plans and intimate rendezvous.

Film rolls along pleasantly for its 105 minutes, featuring the recurring music of Hugo Montenegro and a song by Mack David and Frank DeVol.
