Good Samuel Fuller programmer about a prostie trying the straight route, The Naked Kiss is primarily a vehicle for Constance Towers. Hooker angles and sex perversion plot windup are handled with care, alternating with handicapped children ‘good works’ theme.

Action starts fast with brawl between hardened prostie Kelly (Towers) and cheating pimp who shaved her head, after which she takes to sticks, where she promptly makes it with local cop Griff. Role is played routinely throughout by Anthony Eisley.

Pic bogs down at this point in cliches, as hooker rejects berth in nearby red-lighter run by an effective hard-bitten Virginia Grey, instead taking up rehabilitation of crippled children under wing of Patsy Kelly who makes the most of her few lines.

Towers’ overall effect is good, director Fuller overcoming his routine script in displaying blonde looker’s acting range.
