Members of Non-Profit We Do It Together Discuss the Fight to Get More Women in Movies

The fight to get more stories about women on the screen has a valuable ally in We Do It Together.

The non-profit aims to produce and finance films, TV shows and other forms of media dedicated to the empowerment of women. The organization’s Juliette Binoche, Chiara Tilesi, Patricia Riggen and Marianne Slot spoke to the importance of the movement at Variety and Kering’s Women in Motion chat.

“I face things every single day,” Riggen said. “I could write a book about discrimination and how hard it is. Even if you get chosen to be a director, that doesn’t mean the struggle ends there. It means the struggle begins there. Because every single day, you have to fight for respect. You have to fight for people to believe in you and to follow you.”
