Cannes Film Review: The Summer of

'The Summer of Flying Fish'

Francisca Walker, Gregory Cohen and Paola Lattus star in “The Summer of Flying Fish,” a dramedy that marks the first fiction feature of Chilean director Marcela Said.

Set in southern Chile, where a teen girl vacations at the house of her father, a rich Chilean landowner, Said’s portrait of a Chilean ruling class’ inability to face up to reality will have its world premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section of the Cannes Festival.

Bruno Bettati’s Jirafa in Chile produces with France’s Cinema Defacto. Alpha Violet has acquired worldwide distribution rights.
