Ryan Seacrest Talks Rebooting ‘American Idol’ and Kelly Clarkson Going to ‘The Voice’

Ryan Seacrest discussed the reboot of “American Idol” at Variety’s Cannes Lions studio, and how the show can change going forward.

“There are tweaks that the show will make, and can make, to update itself for 2017,” Seacrest said. “But, at the core, the format is the format. That’s the strength of the show.”

Seacrest also spoke about Kelly Clarkson heading to be a judge on “The Voice.”

“I’m happy if she’s doing what she wants to do and she’s happy,” he said.
