'Big Little Lies' Inspired Nicole Kidman to Stand Up Against 'Homogenized Storytelling'

Nicole Kidman told Ewan McGregor during Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” series why “Big Little Lies” is the type of project she wants to advocate for in the future.

“The last thing we need is this world being homogenized and our storytelling being homogenized,” she said. “So you have to stand up, fight, be willing to take the fault every now and then because sometimes it won’t be commercially viable, but sometimes it will.”

The interview will air in its entirety on Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” Season 6, presented by Shutterstock, which premieres June 13 on PBS SoCal.
