Jake Gyllenhaal Reflects on 'Huge Responsibility' of Portraying Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor

Jake Gyllenhaal discussed at the Toronto Film Festival the “huge responsibility” of portraying Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman in “Stronger.”

“It’s a movie about hope and about inspiring people to know that you might be in the darkest of times in your life — we all have somebody that we know or ourselves have struggled at some point,” he said. “Jeff’s story lifts you up and shows that you can get through it.”

Bauman, stars Tatiana Maslany and Miranda Richardson, and director David Gordon Green also stopped by the Variety Studio Presented by AT&T.
