“Brockmire” — the IFC comedy about a disgraced baseball announcer — almost struck out before it was made.
It originated as a Funny or Die short — starring six-time Emmy winner Hank Azaria — and was meant to be developed as a feature film, but ran out of funding.
Luckily, IFC president and IFC President Jennifer Caserta were able to secure the series, though the path wasn’t always easy.
Azaria and Caserta discuss how “Brockmire” went from viral video to cable hit (that’s already been renewed for a second season) on Cocktails & Conversations presented by The Dorsey at the Venetian Las Vegas.
