David Lynch’s ‘Big Dream’: Director Teases New Music

Enigmatic auteur David Lynch has always maintained a plethora of out-of-the-box interests, ranging from surrealistic newspaper comics to weather reports, painting and restaurant development. But music is clearly particularly dear to his heart, and he has a second full-length album, titled “The Big Dream,” due out on July 16.

Will “The Big Dream” turn out to be a concept album exploring the themes of 2009’s ‘60s-set Italian film “Il grande sogno”? Will Lykke Li’s guest performance manage to equal Karen O’s turn on Lynch’s solo debut, “Crazy Clown Time”? This short teaser video is unlikely to answer any of those questions, but it does provide a nice sneak preview of two atmospheric tracks, complete with studio footage of the master at work.
