‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’: Bringing the CW Show’s Hilarious Musical Numbers to Life

The CW’s “Crazy Ex-­Girlfriend” stars Rachel Bloom as a lawyer who gives up her home and career in New York to follow an old crush to the L.A. suburbs. Each episode has at least two songs, and it takes a whole music department to create them. Variety’s Jenelle Riley met with songwriter Adam Schlesinger (formerly of Fountains of Wayne) and music producer Steven M. Gold to find out how they create the show’s hilarious musical numbers.
