Jerzy Skolimowski made this film in 18 weeks - apparently a meditation on what happened in Poland when the military took over in December 1981 as seen by a Pole in Britain at the time.
Middle-aged cocksureness, arrogance and incomprehension versus teenage revolt, with a young woman as a sort of arbiter, is the theme of this lively and inventive little pic.
