‘SNL’ Stars Who Died Too Soon
Jan Hooks, who died Thursday at the age of 57 after battling a serious disease, joins a list of ‘Saturday Night Live’ performers gone too soon.

John Belushi was an original SNL castmember from 1975-1979, and died of a drug overdose in 1982. He was just 33.
Phil Hartman was a member of the cast from 1986-1994. He was shot dead by his wife in 1998 at the age of 49.
Gilda Radner was an original SNL castmember (1975-1980). She died in 1989 of ovarian cancer at the age of 42.
Michael O’Donoghue appeared on the first “Saturday Night Live” in 1975 but then transitioned to the role of head writer. He died in 1994 at the age of 54 of a brain hemorrhage.
Chris Farley, a member of the SNL cast from 1990-1995, died at the age of 33 of a drug overdose in 1997.

Danitra Vance was a member of the cast in the 1985-1986 season, and died in 1994 of breast cancer. She was 40.
The ‘Saturday Night Live’ cast member was notoriously fired for using the f-word on TV. In 2005, he was found dead in a field with his throat cut. His death was later ruled a suicide.
