Chairman/CEO, Bunim/Murray Prods.; Founder/Exec Consultant, Bunim/Murray Prods.
The company Murray co-founded is seeing an impressive number of anniversaries this year, starting with hitting the 30-year milestone for Bunim/Murray itself, but also including 25 years for its flagship MTV series “The Real World,” as well as a decade for “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” The company also boasts 25 series on 14 networks and has signed global deals this year to continue to expand their reach.
As chairman and CEO, Goldschein manages the daily operation of the company, as well as the growth of the company as both a production studio and an international business entity. Highlights from his year on television include “Earth Live” for Nat Geo, “Bill Nye Saves the World” for Netflix, and “Born This Way” for A&E. Murray serves as exec consultant with the company, which sees him developing series and documentary passion projects, including “Born This Way.”
Reality host for president?
Goldschein: John Cena, he can relate to all different kinds of people and is inspirational.
Murray: T.J. Lavin, from our “The Challenge” series on MTV, which just completed its 30th season. If he can handle “The Challenge” cast, he is ready to take on the world!
Goldschein: Expanding the breadth and scope of the types of programs being produced by BMP, including the launch of “Earth Live,” the most ambitious live TV special event ever, alongside Al Berman, Plimsoll and National Geographic; the launch of Facebook’s first premium docu-series with “Ball in the Family”; and the launch of “The Healer” on TLC. And I couldn’t be more proud of the company’s 13 Emmy nominations, the most in BMP’s history and more than double what we received last year.
Murray: The people I helped put in place to lead BMP into the future. They are maintaining our unique culture while expanding our list of network buyers.
