Nicole Kidman was appointed as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador to promote women’s rights worldwide. A strong focus of her efforts has been on ending violence against women. Ms. Kidman has served as the international spokesperson for UN Women’s “Say NO – UNiTE to End Violence against Women” initiative, and has travelled to meet with survivors of sexual violence and raise attention to this pervasive human rights violation worldwide.
Charlize Theron recently came back from a trip to Johannesburg for the organization and met with South African president Jacob Zuma. She created the organization.

Sony Pictures chairman Amy Pascal has been a supporter of Teen Line for several years. Teen Line was founded in 1980 to help adolescents address their problems through a confidential peer hotline and community outreach program.
Kerry Washington has adopted the Savoy Elementary School in Southeast Washington DC as part of the Turnaround Arts initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, which will give grants to low-income schools, seeking to improve students’ overall performance through arts education. She visited the school in May with First Lady Michelle Obama.
