“30 Rock” (NBC)
Emmy history: Seven noms (including two wins), plus four other nods outside this category
The case: His pitch-perfect portrayal of network exec Jack Donaghy is already considered a modern classic, and the swan-song season of NBC’s beloved comedy only drove home how vital Baldwin was to its success. Look no further than the penultimate episode where Jack devises a plan, courtesy of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” to find his replacement as the Peacock’s president— a twist the actor made simultaneously hilarious, moving and perhaps golden.
Trivia: In 2003, Baldwin earned both a supporting actor Oscar nomination (“The Cooler”) and Razzie nod (for “Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat”).
