Filming in Las Vegas ended up an uneventful occasion for the cast and crew of Warner Bros.-New Line’s “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone,” according to star Steve Carell, who attended the March 11 premiere at the Chinese.
“Dressed as my character, I could walk around and seamlessly fit in to my surroundings,” Carell said. “No one batted an eye.”
That wasn’t the case at the Grand Ballroom afterparty at Hollywood and Highland, where Carell and castmates Jim Carrey, Steve Buscemi and Olivia Wilde, even David Copperfield, were swarmed by lines of well-wishers.
It was a magic-themed night overall with real magicians roaming the room.
Most of the filmmakers, including helmer Don Scardino and scribes Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley, said they were magic fans as kids.
Carell said he has always preferred not knowing how the magic’s done: “I don’t want to have the curtain pulled back. I just want to enjoy the show.”
