Based on John Bellairs' Lewis Barnavelt series of gothic horror novels for kids, “The House With a Clock in Its Walls” is being adapted by “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke.
A prequel to Stephen King’s “The Shining,” “Overlook Hotel” is being written by former “Walking Dead” showrunner Glen Mazzara. The story focuses on the early events in the Overlook’s history.
“Altered Carbon” is based on Richard Morgan's sci-fier, in which consciousness is digitized and stored in cortical stacks implanted in the spine, allowing humans to survive physical death. Kalogridis, who penned “Shutter Island” and exec produced “Avatar,” is adapting the novel along with David Goodman.
“Brigands of Rattleborge” has Park Chan-wook (“Oldboy”) attached to direct, and Red Granite (“The Wolf of Wall Street”) onboard to finance. The pic is set in the days of the Old West, and focuses on a sheriff and a doctor who seek revenge against three thugs who robbed them.
“The Nazi and the Psychiatrist” is being developed as both a feature and a stage adaptation of Jack El-Hai's book about the complex relationship between American psychiatrist Douglas M. Kelley and Nazi war criminal Hermann Goering.
