“True Blood’s” favorite Swedish vampire campaigned hard for the part of Christian Gray, telling “Access Hollywood” that he “was born to play that part.”
This wouldn’t be Pattinson’s first run as the romantic lead in a wildly popular book-series-turned-movie, as his role in “Twilight” as vampire Edward Cullen thrust him into superstardom. Also, according to a recent Tweet from novelist Bret Easton Ellis, Pattinson was E.L. James’ first choice.

The English model and actor gained a loyal fanbase after roles in “I Am Number Four,” “Beastly” and “Magic Mike.” It’s possible that Pettyfer might be a little too busy to star in this franchise, though, as it’s been rumored that he may be considered to appear in “Star Wars: Episode VII.”
