FASHION RECAP: Variety and Women in Film’s Pre-Emmy Celebration
The carpet saw bright pops of red by way of stars like nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal, who looked quite “honorable” in this one-shoulder gown.
The dual Emmy nominee (for her role on “Transparent” and guest appearance on “Girls”) also went for a tomato-red tone.
Keeping it in the red family, Abigail Breslin showed some skin and some bling, accessorizing her look with Swarovski’s Dark Ring from their new Fall/Winter 2015 collection.
Nominee Julie Bowen kept things “modern” and floral in the Lela Rose RE16 Commercial Dress.
“True Detective’s” Abigail Spencer had a similar color scheme and more Geisha-inspired number.
Some other stylish ladies, like “Game of Thrones”” Gwendoline Christie, made a statement in black fashions.
Can’t be “mad” at nominee Christina Hendricks for choosing this demure textured black dress.
Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin
The sociable couple picked matching black outfits, Rinna adding some punch with a leopard clutch.
Amanda Peet’s bold red lip and prominent earrings added pizzazz to her black ensemble.

The “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star also opted for black, broken up with white stripes, and black nails to match.
“American Horror Story” Sarah Paulson stunned in a voluminous black pants outfit.
Beth Behrs got a little more racy and lacy, with this black beaded cocktail dress from the Resort 2015/2016 Collection by Lorena Sarbu.
Mayam Bialik also made a “Big Bang” in a black patterned choice.
Cathy Schulman and Niecy Nash
Niecy Nash wowed in a black embellished dress, while Women in Film president Cathy Schulman playfully paired a leopard-patterned skirt with a cream-colored blouse.
Cream and whites were another trend of the night, like Sasha Alexander’s strapless ivory gown.
White was the new black for nominee Uzo Aduba, who looked elegant in a pants one-piece.
Another “OITNB” star had white in mind, adding some dazzle with Swarovski’s Kiosque Evening Bag and from their new Fall/Winter 2015 collection the Attract Dual Light Necklace.
William H. Macy and Felicity Huffman
Felicity Huffman also went for a light-colored dress, livening up the cream with bold red shoes, a Caption Polish mani/pedi and a gold clutch (plus her best accessory – William H. Macy).
The “Mad Men” star looked angelic with this very three-dimensional design.
Nothing “Scandal”-ous about the tasteful transparent patches in Bellamy Young’s dress.
Ariel Winter also kept things on the light, tasteful and “modern” side.
Laverne Cox seemingly changed from the yellow number she wore earlier into this sexier fitted dress.
The “Transparent” creator was quite transparent in this bold patterned pants suit.
“Modern Family’s” Sarah Hyland also showed a penchant for pattern.
“Shameless” star Shanola Hampton similarly kept things light, patterned and bright.
Color blocks of turquoise and magenta made this “Better Call Saul” star stand out.
The “Orange is the New Black” star also rocked a turquoise and patterned look – plus a Caption Polish nail color called “rough, tough and in the buff.”
