To celebrate 20 years of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” take a look at the cast back then and what they’re up to now.
Sarah Michelle Gellar played Buffy Summers.
The last few years Gellar starred in “The Crazy Ones” opposite the late Robin Williams, voiced the Seventh Sister in “Star Wars Rebels,” and can be seen in the “Cruel Intentions” TV movie.
Nicholas Brendon played Xander Harris.
Brendon had a recurring role on CBS’ “Criminal Minds” for seven years, and will appear in “The Nanny” and “Redwood” this year.
Alyson Hannigan played Willow Rosenberg.
Since “Buffy,” Hannigan became most well known for playing Lily Aldrin for nine season on “How I Met Your Mother.”
Anthony Head played Rupert Giles.
Head has since starred in SyFy’s “Dominion,” Freeform’s “Guilt,” and will play Lord Capulet in ABC’s “Still Star-Crossed.”
James Marsters played Spike.
Marsters has been cast in the upcoming Marvel TV show “Runaways.”
Emma Caulfield starred as Anya.
Recently, Caulfield appeared in “Once Upon a Time” as the Blind Witch, and voiced Nurse Misty Windham in “Fantasy Hospital.”
Michelle Trachtenberg starred as Dawn Summers.
Trachtenberg appeared as a recurring guest in “Gossip Girl” for four years, as well as episodes of “Guidance” and “SuperMansion.”
David Boreanaz played Angel.
Boreanaz’ Angel character had a spinoff series called “Angel” following his time on “Buffy.” Now, Boreanaz is wrapping up a 12-year stint on “Bones” as Seeley Booth.
Charisma Carpenter played Cordelia Chase.
Carpenter reprised her role as Cordelia Chase on the “Buffy” spinoff “Angel.” Since then she played Lacy in “The Expendables” and “The Expendables 2” and has appeared in episodes of “Scream Queens” and “Lucifer.”
Amber Benson played Tara Maclay.
Benson has since appeared in mini-series “Morganville: The Series,” “The Crooked Man,” and “The Griddle House.”
Seth Green played Daniel Osbourne.
Green continues to voice Chris Griffin on Fox’s “Family Guy,” but has also leant his voice to Leonardo on the animated “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
Eliza Dushku played Faith.
Dushku gained more popularity by starring in another cult Joss Whedon series “Dollhouse.” More recently, she voiced She-Hulk in “Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.” and had a recurring role as Veronica Dawson on “Banshee.”
