The UTA-repped actor will next portray WikiLeaks mastermind Julian Assange in the upcoming drama “The Fifth Estate,” which many insiders have pegged as an awards season contender.
Stepping into a role originally intended for Jessica Biel, 20th Century Fox clearly views the role of villain Viper as a pivotal part of “The Wolverine.” She’ll be asked to match wits with star Hugh Jackman in almost every scene, and if all goes according to plan, the Russian-born thesp could be seen in a lot more Hollywood movies in the future.
Why he could break out: Hunnam is already a star on FX show “Sons of Anarchy,” but this role will show whether the Brit thesp has the chops to take on leading man feature parts. His voice has been all over the trailers and “Pacific Rim” helmer Guillermo del Toro is so high on him, he has already been cast in horror pic “Crimson Peak” with Benedict Cumberbatch, Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone.
“The Spectacular Now”
Why he could break out: Even though he shares the spotlight with Shailene Woodley in “The Spectacular Now,” Teller received quite a bit attention himself after the high school drama premiered at Sundance. After roles in “Footloose” and “Project X,” Teller’s profile has been growing, and he will reunite with Woodley this fall in Summit’s “Divergent” franchise.
“The Great Gatsby”
Why she could break out: In a cast full of marquee names, “The Great Gatsby’s” Jordan Baker is the one face that wasn’t already familiar to auds and bizzers. Newcomer Baker had no trouble holding her own with the likes of Carey Mulligan and Leonardo DiCaprio. With “The Great Gatsby” overperforming at the B.O. and a role in a starry ensemble, the Aussie thesp is well-positioned for further success.

Why she could break out: The daughter of actor Trevor Eve and actress Sharon Maughan, Eve first starred in the romantic comedy “She’s Out of My League” but has recently been promoted to the showbiz majors, co-starring in J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” sequel. She can next be seen opposite Bryan Cranston in the home invasion thriller “Cold Comes the Night”
“Kings of Summer”
Why he could break out: Sundance is always reliable as a place to spot emerging talent (Jennifer Lawrence, “Winters Bone”) and early buzz has 18-year old Robinson as one of those potential breakouts in Sundance pic “The Kings of Summer.” Robinson came close to landing the coveted role opposite Shailene Woodley in “The Fault in Our Stars” and will continue appearing in ABC Family’s “Melissa & Joey” as he starts college.
“Fast and Furious 6”
Why he could break out: The role of Owen Shaw in “Fast and Furious 6” got Universal execs so excited that the studio gave the Welshman another villainous role in its new “Dracula” movie. Evans will also get the opportunity to show his heroic chops in the pivotal role of Bard the Bowman in “The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug.”
