Jack White has signed his first-ever multi-year global agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group, which will administer his entire song catalog as a solo artist (including chart-topping albums "Blunderbuss" and "Lazaretto") and as a member of The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather. Marc Geiger is William Morris Endeavor’s head of music. He supervises over 100 agents globally while also representing the likes of Janelle Monae, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty, LCD Soundsystem, Jack White, Outkast, David Byrne, Neil Diamond, The Flaming Lips, Jane’s Addiction, Steve Martin, Pixies, Trent Reznor, Rihanna, Lindsey Stirling, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Tom Waits, and Hans Zimmer.
Geiger has been head of WME’s music division since 2009. Under his direction, Geiger’s department has thrived, with more dates booked than any other agency in 2015, and over 35,000 appearances globally. Thanks to his musical instincts, Geiger led WME to form an EDM division well before other agencies followed suit. He was also instrumental in landing partnerships with music festivals like Lollapalooza, which he co-founded in 1991. He has since expanded Lollapalooza to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Berlin. He also led the charge to acquire successful Australia music booking agency Artist Voice in 2015.
Geiger got his feet wet in the industry as a concert promoter and eventually transitioned into working at Triad Artists as an agent. Shortly after founding Lollapalooza in 1991, he was named Executive Vice President of A&R, Marketing and New Media at Rick Rubin’s American Recordings. In 1994, Geiger launched ARTISTdirect, which grew to include a talent agency, two record labels, a marketing division, and popular website %u2013 of which he was Chairman and CEO before he joined William Morris Agency in 2003. Geiger is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego.
