Blair Rich has been promoted to president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros., Variety has learned.In her new post, Rich will oversee the development and execution of all of the studio's marketing campaigns. As President of Worldwide Marketing for Warner Bros. Pictures, Blair Rich oversees marketing campaigns for the studio’s global slate in addition to New Line Cinema releases and films produced by the studio’s production partners Alcon and MGM.
Rich helped contribute to the success of 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” “Suicide Squad,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” and “Central Intelligence.” Rich works closely with Sue Kroll on long-term planning for theatrical marketing and she’s involved in the day-to-day development and execution of global releases and creative marketing strategies.
Rich has also strategized campaigns for Warner Bros. Pictures hits including the “Harry Potter” films, “The Dark Knight” trilogy, “The Hobbit” franchise, and “The Conjuring” films in addition to Oscar nominated films “Gravity” and “Argo,” the latter of which received “Best Picture.”
Rich began her career with Warner Bros. Pictures International as a marketing trainee in the late nineties. She was promoted many times over the years — becoming a director in 2002 in addition to being named Senior Vice President and Vice President of Marketing and Creative Advertising for the studio’s international film division. She also previously served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing. Rich graduated from Georgetown University in 1997.
