Madonna had a $60-million payday on April 20, 1992, when she signed a deal with Time Warner to form her multimedia company Maverick. The company consisted of a recording company with music publishing, television, film, merchandising and book publishing divisions. Its first releases were the performer’s controversial coffee table book “Sex” and her album “Erotica.”
