'Indestructible' rides top spot

Tally places Disturbed’s latest disc in between 2002’s “Believe,” which sold 284,000, and the 239,000 that 2005’s “Ten Thousand Fists” punched out in its first week. All three debuted at No. 1.
The top 10 had six debuts and an expanded version of an album making a reappearance.
The 28th volume of “Now That’s What I Call Music,” released by Capitol, sold 185,000 to debut at No. 2.
Weezer’s self-titled “red” album on DGC/Interscope sold 126,000 to debut at No. 4. Journey’s “Revelation” (Frontiers), which was sold only at Wal-Mart outlets and through the band’s website, sold 105,000 copies to occupy the No. 5 slot. Chart position is the band’s highest in 12 years.
Ashanti’s “Declaration” (The Inc./Universal Motown) followed at No. 6 on sales of 86,000. And Jewel’s country effort “Perfectly Clear” (Valory Music Group) charmed 48,000 to debut at No. 8. Album is the first release from Valory, a sister imprint of Big Machine, the label home to Taylor Swift and Trisha Yearwood.
The expanded edition of Chris Brown’s “Exclusive” (Jive/Zomba) rose 46 slots on sales of 36,000 to land at No. 10.
Other debuts all come from rockers.
“Now Classic Rock” head-banged 23,000 (No. 20); Opeth’s “Watershed” (Roadrunner) moved 20,000 (No. 23); Radiohead’s “Best Of” (Capitol/EMI) was OK with 18,000 (No. 26); Bush leader Gavin Rossdale’s solo debut “Wanderlust” (Interscope) sold 15,000 (No. 32); the 2008 Warped Tour compilation skated off with 15,000 (34); and Brett Michael’s “Rock My World” (VH1 Classic) dragged out 13,000 (No. 39)
Last week’s chart-topper, Usher’s “Here I Stand,” sold 145,000 and dipped to No. 3.
Early indications suggest Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” will post the year’s highest tally for a single week of sales. The album was leaked last week and sold almost 4,000 copies.
