Schubert, to be based in Los Angeles, will oversee all consumer publicity for Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network. He will also head the launch campaigns for upcoming series "Cheerleader Nation" and "Face the Family," in addition to the cabler's lineup of original movies.
Los Angeles-based exec will report to executive VP of public affairs and corporate communications Meredith Wagner.
"Neil brings a wealth of experience in all the myriad facets of public relations, from working with talent and producers to his trusted relationships with the nation's press, all of which will prove invaluable to us as we launch our next generation of programming," Wagner said.
Schubert spent nine years at Universal, last serving as senior VP of publicity, advertising and promotion. There, he spearheaded the campaigns for the "Law & Order" franchise, "Just Shoot Me," "Coach," "American Dreams" and "Karen Sisco."
Before that, Schubert held posts at Warner Bros. TV, Orion TV Entertainment and ABC Entertainment. Most recently, he served as a PR consultant for E! and Style Networks.
