Donald Trump took a break Friday morning from tweeting about “Making America Great Again” (in all caps) to slam Arnold Schwarzenegger and “The New Celebrity Apprentice” — a show he hosted for fourteen seasons and on which he remains an exec producer.

According to Nielsen’s preliminary ratings — released Tuesday, the morning after Schwarzenegger’s version of the show debuted — the program’s ratings had dropped more than 43% since the most recent premiere that Trump hosted in 2015.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Fires Back at Trump’s ‘Apprentice’ Ratings Diss

“Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got “swamped” (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT,” Trump tweeted. “So much for being a movie star — and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1.”

Trump continued to distance himself from Schwarzenegger by calling out his allegiances during the election. “But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary,” Trump wrote.

Schwarzenegger, who served as Governor of California for the Republican Party for two terms, announced that he would endorse Kasich in March 2016. Later in October, he said that he would “not vote for the Republican candidate” shortly after Trump’s now-famous vulgar “Access Hollywood” tape made its rounds.

TV Review: ‘The New Celebrity Apprentice’ With Arnold Schwarzenegger

It’s no secret that Trump has an obsession with his own ratings as host of “The Apprentice.” In a photo of Trump’s recent meeting with Kanye West in Trump tower, a framed chart of Nielsen ratings from Variety is visible over Ivanka Trump’s shoulder.

The Friday morning tweets were sent the same day that Trump is expected to meet with all the top editors at Conde Nast publications including Anna Wintour and Graydon Carter.

  1. DougB says:

As long a Almost President Drumpf is Executive Director of the show, over half the voters will not watch “that” show.

  2. Swing Alpha says:

At this point, we’ll just have to wait and see

  3. Miriam says:

and the American people are going to watch this excuse for a human being sworn in as our President. ? This will be the saddest day in American history

  4. I see that Trump is focusing on the “important” stuff. Has he said anything about the shootings in the Ft Lauderdale airport or is he still fixated on “ratings”?

  5. Dahlia B Berencia says:

Our president is concerned with Apprentice ratings as opposed to running America. GOD HELP US ALL. It will be a long 4 years!

  6. :) says:

People should be thrilled to see Trump doing this, because two years of exactly this type of behavior will be enough to rally so many new potential leaders to begin running for office that never would bother if we had super-pac funded HRC or another Bush or any other establishment republican taking the seat of President to simply work on their re-election for a full 8yr stretch of sameness.

The country needs big “tip over the apple cart” change and the first step of that was to blast the likes of HRC, Cruz, Rubio, Romney, Bush, etc off of the playing field, which the people did using Trump as their battering ram, now we need Trump to piss everybody off on both sides of the DNC & RNC so the that fresh blood will be inspired to enter the ring.

My bet is that he will do an LBJ thing and surprise people with some very helpful moves, claim victory & then choose not to run again so that he can go out a “Winner” & not risk losing, – then he can jump back on Twitter to say how much better of a President that he was & finally no one will care :)

  7. RoyMunson says:

I’ve had years to get used to it but still can’t believe how childish this “man” is.
In a matter of days he will have THE most important job on the planet …and he’s going to waste his time making fun of people on twitter

    • James Nemec says:

I agree 100%. The thing that frightens me is just how vindictive and petty he gets with people on twitter. On TWITTER! Over the silliest things. I want to respect my president, whoever he is, and his little tantrums on twitter don’t engender respect. I’m embarrassed.

  8. Pamela Kennedy says:

It had NOTHING to do with Arnold and everything to do with not supporting ANYTHING that has TRUMPs name attached to it. It’s was a country full of pissed off American’s boycotting the show and NOT endorsing him in every way possible. That will also include NOT watching the inaugaration. NOT MY PRESIDENT.

    • greg marotta says:

A boycott of everything this rotten clan attaches their name to is the way to go. Every “made in China” scam, every gaudy whorehouse hotel, every golf course should be shunned. The company was on life support before the election. Keep the pressure on. Let his redneck base pay 500+ for a hotel room or buy “Ivanka” shoes made in overseas sweatshops. Slowly but surely it will work.

  9. Guest says:

Mr. Trump can always offer to resign from the Presidency and go back to hosting Celebrity Apprentice if it means that much to him. Millions would support such a move.

  10. James Nemec says:

There is not one gracious bone in Donald Trump’s body. He’s just petty. I’m all for giving the new president a chance, but these childish tweets and his constant need to rub things in everyone’s face does not inspire confidence. The endless bragging and taking credit for anything and everything just makes him look as small as his hands.

  11. greg marotta says:

Maybe trump (no capital letter) can prevail upon his pal Mark Burnett to release the “N-word” tapes from the set of the ratings machine that was “The Apprentice.”

  12. Contessa46 says:

People are boycotting everything Trump–don’t you get it?

    • Ken says:

No, they are not. Arnold is a traitor and he is paying for it. Hollywood is about to find out, the hard way, that these ignorant, big-mouthed “celebrities” have lost a huge part of their audiences. Investors, be VERY careful in backing certain “stars” for films, you’ll lose your shirt or blouse.

      • Brandon says:

        The undereducated whom trump loves?

      • Kevin Skiles says:

The celebrities aren’t worried, because there is no Electoral College for ratings, so the true majority will decide who to back. And I guarantee that won’t be the “Heartland”, unless they bring back Hee- Haw and Petticoat Junction.

      • nohw says:

You are absolutely right Ken. Arnold sold out Conservatives in CA as Governor then would not back Trump. It has everything to do with Benedict Arnold not Trump. We will be boycotting anything from hollywood that pushes the leftist agenda and their failed ideology.

      • Ken says:

        You sound butthurt.

      • Michael Anthony says:

So days “ken” , an expert on Hollywood.
