CAA, Publicist Staci Wolfe Part Ways With Kevin Spacey

CAA, Kevin Spacey’s talent agency of the past eight years, has parted ways with the actor following numerous sexual harassment allegations beginning with actor Anthony Rapp claiming that Spacey behaved inappropriately toward him when he was 14-years-old. Spacey’s publicist, Staci Wolfe of Polaris, also no longer works with the actor.

The severances come in the wake of mounting allegations of assault and harassment against the actor, who used his apology to Rapp to come out as gay in a statement posted to Twitter Sunday. Since the allegations broke, production on the sixth season of “House of Cardshas been suspended, and Netflix is currently evaluating a path forward for the show, which is ending with its sixth season, the streaming service announced this week. Multiple spinoffs of the show are in the works.

On Thursday, Netflix and Media Rights Capital — which produces “House of Cards” — responded to a new report from CNN in which eight current staffers on the series characterized the show’s work environment as “toxic,” contributing that state of affairs to Spacey’s behavior. Another former employee who spoke anonymously with the news network accused Spacey of sexual assault.

In the CNN story, an anonymous former production assistant said that he and Spacey were in a moving car near set when Spacey, without consent, put his hand down the production assistant’s pants.

“I was in a state of shock,” the production assistant told CNN. “He was a man in a very powerful position on the show and I was someone very low on the totem pole and on the food chain there.”

The accusations against Spacey are the latest in a string of men and women sharing their stories of abuse after an explosive New York Times report brought down Harvey Weinstein by exposing eight sexual harassment settlements the producer had reached dating back decades.

The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.
