Tim Hincks Endemol Shine Group

Tim Hincks, the longtime president of Endemol Shine Group, will step down from his post after 17 years at the company, it was announced Monday. His departure will occur in March.

“The last 17 years have been an incredible and exhilarating ride,” Hincks said. “Playing my part in helping build a world-class content creation company across so many countries, genres and platforms has been an honor and a privilege. And working with unrivaled creative teams across the world has been a quite ridiculous amount of fun. But it really is time for a new adventure. It couldn’t have been a tougher decision for me to make and I’m extremely grateful to [Endemol Shine Group CEO Sophie Turner] for how understanding and helpful she has been throughout the process.”

He added that he also wanted to thank his coworkers and friends at Endemol, whom he said “under Sophie’s leadership, will ensure this company goes from strength to strength. It’s very important for me that I leave this brilliantly all-consuming job first before I consider what the next challenge might be. Following my last day in the office in March I’ll take the time to consider the future and to get round to doing all the things I haven’t had time to do, like remembering my children’s names for example.”

Hincks joined Endemol in 1999 after nine years at BBC, where he worked on factual and current affairs programming. He held several senior management roles at the company, including creative director and CCO. He was appointed Endemol UK’s CEO in 2008, when he also joined the international board and the creative board of Endemol Group. In 2012, he became Endemol Group president and was responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in the US and UK, as well as content creation and commercial exploitation across the Group’s worldwide network. He was appointed president of the joint venture Endemol Shine Group in October 2014.

“The role Tim has played in the success of the business has simply been exceptional,” said Turner. Throughout his time at the company he has combined outstanding creative leadership with a keen entrepreneurial spirit, not to mention a brilliant sense of humor and fun. Though sad to be losing him I do respect his desire for fresh adventures having contributed so much to the company over so many years. He will be greatly missed when he leaves us but will do so with all our very best wishes and heartfelt thanks.”

Details on how Hincks’ duties will be fulfilled after his departure will be announced at a later date.
