NBC has ordered a buddy comedy pilot for “Me & Mean Margaret,” Variety has learned.

The potential series is described as an unlikely buddy comedy that follows a fiercely candid and often offensive legendary actress and the ambitious 27-year-old lawyer forced to babysit her.

Written by Adam Barr (“Will & Grace,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine”), the multi-cam comedy hails from Universal Television and Chernin Entertainment.

Barr will serve as an exec producer with Peter Chernin. The pilot order marks a reunion for Barr and NBC, as he worked on not only “Will & Grace,” but also most recently “Growing Up Fisher” and “The New Normal.”

Also on Tuesday, NBC ordered three more comedy pilots.
