How Megyn Kelly Survived Donald Trump

Megyn Kelly was leaving her Manhattan apartment on a recent day when her doorman threw his arms around her. “Why is Peter hugging me?” the star anchor of Fox News remembers thinking. The embrace was meant as reassurance after yet another nasty tweet written by Donald Trump. Kelly had sworn off Twitter and Googling herself — “bus exhaust,” she calls it — once Trump started lashing out at her following August’s presidential debate, after she cornered him on his history of misogyny.

Many news personalities are already worn out covering this year’s election, but Kelly has become part of the story. She’s survived sustained attacks from Trump by buckling down and focusing on her job, and her primetime show “The Kelly File” has never done better, averaging 2.5 million nightly viewers. In a one-hour conversation, Kelly spoke to Variety for this week’s Power of Women issue about Trump, wanting to interview Hillary Clinton and whether she’ll remain at Fox News after her contract expires next year.

Do you think there’s a double standard in the news business when it comes to women?
Let me put it to you this way. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in the past 10 months is we have a long way to go. We as women in the country—where we are, how we think of ourselves, what we’re willing to accept—we have a ton of work to do.

Do you think Trump’s attacks on you are different because you’re a woman?
I think the language is very different when he fights with women.

Has it been hard for you?
It has not been enjoyable. I wish it hadn’t happened. I hope it will stop — his focus on me. If he’s determined not to stop, there’s nothing I can do. I don’t like being the story. I think it raises real First Amendment issues. I’ve seen what’s happened with Michelle Fields [the former Breitbart News reporter allegedly grabbed by Trump’s campaign manager] and in my own world, there’s another side to this behavior. It poses real risks to the person under attack.

What did you think when you read his tweet that you owe him part of your salary?
I laughed.

Isn’t it sexist?
I’ll leave that to someone else to label. I’ll say this. I earn every dime of my salary. I won’t be giving it to anyone other than my three children. “The Kelly File” was the No. 1 show [in cable] in the time slot and No. 2 in all of cable news from the time I launched it. Trump called for people to boycott the show repeatedly. The numbers went up. When he realized the boycott had failed, he decided to take credit for the show’s success.

Has this made it harder to cover him?
I don’t want to be reporting the news in a way that’s fearful, or a way that seeks to curry favor or prove something. It is difficult, because Trump generates a lot of controversy, often intentionally. So you have to cover that as a reporter. I’ll channel surf. I’ll look at CNN, or I’ll look at my pals Bill [Hemmer] and Martha [MacCallum], who are co-hosting my old show. We’re the same. I give him no more coverage than the other journalists give him.

Megyn Kelly Wants to Interview Melania Trump, the Obamas

You asked a series of pointed questions about the lawsuit against Trump University at the last debate you moderated. Why do you think it took the media so long to report about that?
I think the media believed that Trump wasn’t a serious contender for a long time until it became obvious they were wrong. There is a lot to fact check Trump on that poses challenges. Reporters only have so much time and energy for one particular subject, and I also think with Trump, he’s a master strategist at distracting you. If he says something for which he’s gotten into real trouble, he’ll say something else and the media is quick to run to the next shiny thing.

He also doesn’t always answer the question he’s being asked.
It’s hard. You have to really stay on it. You need a situation where you pick one topic and you go 10 questions deep—I do that on my show. That’s how you’d have to handle Trump. Listen, it’s been a long time since I’ve interviewed him.

Do you think you’ll interview him again?
To be honest, every time I prepare an invitation to sit down with him, he attacks me on Twitter or elsewhere. I had always been hoping I could reach out to him at a time when he wasn’t angry. I don’t think it would be a good interview if he was angry at me—but then he never stops with the attacks. I was just about to ask him to sit down with me two weeks ago, but then he started up again out of the blue.

After he gave the response about the size of his hands, it was remarkable how you kept a poker face.
You know, I haven’t seen the debates. I haven’t seen the reaction shot. There was definitely a moment where Bret [Baier] and I looked to each other and laughed. Did that just happen?

Did you still use Twitter?
I barely go on Twitter anymore. I go on for the news. I don’t go to the mentions. Whenever I go to the mentions, I’m sorry I did.

Variety Power of Women New York 2016

Variety’s Power of Women 2016

Have you felt supported by Fox News?
I have. Fox News has been in a tough position. They care about me and they are not afraid of a fight, but we’re in unchartered territory.

Have you had many conversations about this with your boss Roger Ailes?
I’ve had many conversations with him about the situation. I think it’s been hard on him, too. I don’t think he’s enjoyed one piece of this. He can see what happens in my life when Trump starts off. He really wants him to stop, but on the other hand, he’s not going to run a news channel that doesn’t provide access to the Republican frontrunner for president.

Your contract is up after the election. Have you decided if you’re staying at Fox News?
I haven’t.

You might not stay?
Never say never. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’ve had a great 12 years here, and I really like working for Roger Ailes. I really like my show, and I love my team. But you know, there’s a lot of brain damage that comes from the job. There was probably less brain damage when I worked in the afternoon. I was less well known. I had far less conflict in my life. I also have three kids who are soon going to be in school from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. I come to work at 3:30. I like to see my children. Having said that, my boss has been good about working with me to make me happy–he knows I’m a hard worker. I’ve had few problems here where I couldn’t talk to him and say, “Can we work something out?,” and come away happy.

Would you consider your own talk show?
I’ve thought about that. I don’t know what the market looks like for that in 2016. Many people have tried and failed. I do love covering the news. I just don’t think that’s the perfect thing for me.

What about co-hosting a morning show like “Today”?
You have to wake up so early. The alarm goes off at 3:30 a.m. When I did “America’s Newsroom,” which started at 9 a.m., I remember saying to the makeup artist at the time, ‘If you could only know the afternoon me, you’d like me so much better.’ Listen, this is a fickle business. What if they called me and fired me tomorrow? I have to keep my options open.

Fox News won’t do that.
One never knows. Everything is rolling along fine, and then you call Huckabee “Fuckabee” and you’re gone. [Laughs.]

Tell me about the Fox primetime special you’re hosting on May 23.
It’s still a work in progress. We’re picking up the baton from someone I admire very much–Barbara Walters, who did these amazing specials for two decades with Bill Geddie. He’s my executive producer on this project, so he knows the drill. We’re doing more celebrity type interviews, human interest stuff and some politics but to a smaller degree.

Do you think there’s still interest in long-form TV journalism?
The Barbara Walters specials and Diane Sawyer sit-downs always get huge ratings. This is our first offering, so we’re not looking to hit a home run. We’re looking to hit a single. And just to establish ourselves as folks that know how to do this and would like to seize the mantle.

Are you prepared to cover a brokered Republican convention?
Hell yes. I think most reporters are rooting for that because it would be a great news story.

Megyn Kelly: Ratings ‘Went Up’ After Donald Trump Boycott

It’s confusing.
It’s very confusing. We’re going to have to spend weeks boning up on the weird rules and committees. I get the basics: if one candidate doesn’t get it on the first vote, it’s a free for all on the second vote, and you better have wined and dined a lot of delegates to get them on your side. I think the notion of them parachuting in some underdog candidate to save the day is a lot of nonsense—unless there are catastrophic wounds for the last man standing.

Do you think the general election will be Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump?
Certainly, the smart money is on Hillary right now, and I think the smart money is on Trump too. It’s going to take a lot to stop him. I don’t see a clear path for Kasich or Cruz. Something extraordinary would have to happen, but this whole year has been extraordinary.

Are you surprised by the meanness of the election so far?
I don’t really get surprised with politics. I think it’s sad. I feel sad because I’m raising three young children. I don’t want them to see it. I’m glad they are young. I’m glad they don’t fully appreciate what’s going on. I wish we were doing better as a culture. I don’t know how I can help that. I don’t mean as a journalist; I mean as a human being.

We’ve never seen a political candidate encourage violence against journalists.
I really think one of the biggest stories coming out of this election when the post-mortem is done will be the media–what role they played, how they treated the candidates and how they allowed themselves to be treated. I think we’re going to have to engage in a lot of soul searching about that.

Are you interested in interviewing Hillary?
Still working on it.

What’s the hold-up?
She is. Actually, I haven’t gotten close enough to find out how she feels. She’s surrounded by so many circles, it’s like you can’t get through. I hope she’s not going to govern like this. Am I really that scary? I’m a tough interviewer when it comes to these politicians, for sure. But how can she say she deserves George Washington’s job and not sit with me?

What would you like to ask her?
I have a lot I want to ask her about. I would like to hear her opinions about Trump. I think there’s a lot more to discuss in terms of the emails.

Like what?
If I give you the exact question, you’re going to print it in Variety and she’s going to see it. Trust me, I have a good one ready to go. I think anyone who has watched these presidential debates knows I’m tough but fair. My goal will not be to destroy Hillary Clinton. Nor would it be to coronate Hillary Clinton.

Who else are your dream interviews?
I’d love to interview the pope. I’d love to interview Putin, Assad, Bill Clinton, Melania Trump.

Really? Do you think she’d do it?
It would be up to him. I’d say probably not. I think she’d be a fascinating interview. She’s beautiful. She’s an entrepreneur. She could have married this billionaire — I don’t know if he’s a billionaire — and taken it easy, but she was determined to create her own business. I’ve been impressed by her grace, her kindness. I think she speaks well for him. All this controversial stuff that he has said and done, how does she view it? I bet she doesn’t like it. I bet she tells him to stop.

I use to like Megan Kelly until she started belittling Trump. On every show all she covers is something he says etc. I wish she would move to a liberal channel because she is definitley that way. It is all about her and she is far less than someone like Lou Dobbs. She needs to Leave Fox News and let Hannity have his spot back. I only watch her show when she is not there.

  3. Bee says:

I HOPE THEY FIRE YOU. I used to be a fan and watch you show.. BUT I DON’T GIVE TO CRAPS ABOUT WHAT YOU POLITICAL BELIEFS ARE. You started shoving you believes down everyone throats. I hope the door hits in in the butt on the way out.. What happened to Journalism in this country you are suppose to not take side and stay unbiased but you have been biased since this all started you made it very CRYSTAL CLEAR WHO YOU LIKED. You push you own agenda the truth be damned. I NOW DO NOT BELIEVE ANY NEWS I HEAR ON ANY STATION UNTIL I CAN GO ONLINE AM MAKE SURE ITS NOT THE REPORTERS OPINIONS.

  4. lois jesek says:

Kelly is ALWAYS ABOUT KELLY. It’s not the story other wise she would be as fair and competent as Greta VanSustren or Monica Crowley. Her demeanor gets tiresome and I rarely watch her any at all…I’s TIRED OF ‘HER CUTEPIENESS’ CRAP’… SHE IS MEDIOCRE. She inserts herself all the time… when you are Good, you don’t have to resort to that. Her work should stand on it’s own. She is biased and unfair. Gooo-Bye Baby. Can’t be too soon. (Besides We hear that she is a bitch of the first water to her per sieved enemies… a vicious mean bitch. She will grow old tiresome and ugly… she is starting that now. “cute docent cover the mediocureness’… That’s hype… Besides her wardrobe looks like a no class waitress… I don’t know who does her clothes, but they are just awful. More ‘trampette’ with all the weird holes, necks, arms, one shoulder, and rarely a business look of a professional. Again, Goooooooo Buye little Megynette.

  5. I agree with Suni hah completely. She Megyn Kelly is a real professional. Strong and with a positive . attitude of herself. She can think for herself. She can take a difficult personality and do the right thing. A real Professional with a bright future!. Thank you Ms. Kelly for your service to America and your T V audience.

  6. suni hah says:

she s modern woman idol, tough intelligent, human with a conscience, courage to stand up to bad behavior/character. will watch her show and follow her show whereever she goes. glad she addressed diappointing bill oreilly and hucklebee, sad that they r blind by money and frame

  7. i would love to see kelly interview clinton just to see if she will go after cliton in the same fashion she does trump. clinton has 5x the dirt on her that trump does will she be fair and go after the bengazi lies and the email scandles, the way hilliary has systematicly went after and trashed the reputations of the girls her hubby has cheated on her with. the many rumors of clinton being bisexual or lesbian, her blatant lies she has been caught in like being under sniper fire. or will she put kid gloves on give her a pass and show herself to be biased self serving and a poor excuse for a news anchor.

  8. Chasmotion says:

    THIS IS SO FUNNY!
The whole time spent in consoling Megan took about 70% of the article, so when you read it all you see is TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP! He occupies all of the space that was to supposed to be about Megan.

  9. Irene Hansen says:

I have been turned off to Megan Kelly since SHE started questions at the first debate gunned at Mr. Trump. I loved you for years! Then you became a celebrity. And to think it was a comparison with Kelly from a talk show. are you kidding. Your first question. nothing about this country it was about women being fat. Well you were compared to Kelly for physical appearance. did you say anything. I stood up for you. Due to having brains so I thought . and then you do the same at a political debate . who are you. I have lost total respect you are a celebrity hound and I’m saddened that you have chosen this route. You have been sucked in. shame on you.

  10. marie says:

Why do women always call foul when they have a problem. They are the meanest and yet want to look like they are picked on. Kelly is a mean hearted person. What she did to Trump cannot be forgiven. She tried to ruin a persons reputation and chances for being elected President. Trump let her have it that night at the debate with his Rosie remark but someone else might not have been so sharp and would have been ruined by her questioning. She was no match for Trump but she didn’t know it. Now she wants to cry. Ayles should have fired her . He lost a lot of money because of her. I am certain he will call it quits soon.

  11. Trena Herman says:

I Hope Fox News reads the Comments below. I liked Megan as well…
At First… I lost respect for her when she interviewed The Dugger Family Molestation. I have never seen a more biased interview from someone who is supposed to be intelligent. It was disgusting. As a Parent and Mother is she that clueless about the Subject of Sexual abuse. Minimizing that it was just a touch. Not confronting them about sending him to a religious retreat instead of some one who is educated about this. She was practically holding their hand. She let her own Religious beliefs dominate the interview. There was not one intelligent question asked. Isolated instance. Where is he now. ??????? A Professional would also be looking into if he was molested himself. Okay… Stopped watching her at that point. And just watched Hannity. I saw the debates, and It was so SO Obvious that she was being Malicious and Biased. I only see Highlights if that is what you want to Call them on the other Megan, /Trump War. I really have lost respect at this Point in Fox News.
Don’t tell me you don’t see this. Get rid of the biased Women. She is bringing you down. Everyone I know prefers Gretta. Now she’s Professional and does not need attention for her self.

  12. joe bloe says:

    Attack.
take aggressive action against (a place or enemy forces) with weapons or armed force, typically in a battle or war.
“in December, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor”
    synonyms: strike, charge, pounce;

    Yeah, no.

  13. Joan L Stoy says:

As a former junior high principal when the women weren’t getting those assignments, I can relate to your comments regarding the place of women in our society…much yet to be done! I don’t agree with the negative commentary of the previous woman….you are an excellent role model…bright, articulate and COMPETENT…juggling a career and a family. Trump must feel terribly threatened by you to continually attack you. In my many years working with men in a variety of capacities, I have found that confident, successful men, don’t have a need to treat women the way Trump has treated you. He is very much like the junior high kid who bullied others….inside very insecure. Keep that in mind and don’t let any of this deter you from what you really want to do. Hope you stay at Fox!
    Joan Stoy
    PS Ms. Byfield…watch the misspelling….loosing????

  14. Frank Papcin says:

with her lashing of trump from the start–her bias comments—I think she deserves everything she gets
every time she is on fox, I switch stations
a reporter making the news?—her opinion of the news,–more bias than MSNBC, more continues than CNN
you talk about trump than you do about democrats–will be glad if you leave–suggest msnbc–they need a person like you

  15. Ann Marie Byfield says:

I was a great fan of yours in the beginning but fast loosing respect as of late. I’ts obvious you feel an axe to grind with Trump. I feel you started it all yourself in the first debate. Since then you are always the first to bring his name up to dispute. Your journalistic position has been tarnished with your conceit and arrogance. The public just wants clear, fair and unbiased news, not interested in your opinions particularly in personal questions not pertaining to political views necessary to Americans. It’s time you grow up and leave Trump alone, it only proves how small you really have become.

    • Saratogan says:

You not must understand things clearly. The FOX news channel is opinion journalism. Oreilly, Kelly, Hannity and Van Susteren are all opinion journalist and have never shown anything otherwise. Frankly the simple news readers are a thing of the past and were boring! Why do you think that the FOX news channel has the highest ratings — higher than CNN et al combined?? It is because they put on a better show than the rest of the cable news channels.

  16. Shawn ellis says:

Megan Kelly you suck as a tv personality ! I LOVED you until you became a one trick pony and attacked trump
You are a reporter! Don’t pick a side and slant your stories! That is an insult to me! Go away and realize what damage you did by injecting your own feelings into a national issue! Hell you did trump more good by being a bitch to him than by supporting him! Stupid!

  17. Pamela Plyler says:

Megan Kelly is so fake. She’s turned herself into some poor little victim of the mean old Mr. Trump while at the same time loving all the attention she’s gotten in the process. I didn’t know so called journalists were such whiney babies. I guess she and Michelle Fields can compare notes on what brave survivors they are. Good grief!

  18. Martha says:

During the whole Megan Kelly interview, i NOTICED when NOT ASKED about Mr Trump, she had to add him to the MIX…I THINK “SHE” is a bit OBSESSED with HIM not the OTHER WAY around!

  19. Amy says:

I think you should be giving some of your salary to charity. Surely, your 3 children do not need every penny of it.

    • Gregg says:

How do you know how much she gives to charity? Frankly that is her concern. I would bet that she gives more than you do Amy.

  20. marc mercury says:

Good luck to you Meagan but many comments here do not hold you in awe anymore. I am neutral here but be careful as like you said you are treading on new territory and you do have 3 kids to think about. Your emotions to many observers, the way they see your expressions, seem to be your weakness Not in your favor. Barbara Walters was a great interviewer to just name one, but have you studied her facial and others skills she expresses as a tool that you can learn by.

Its great you have the lofty but attainable goals you look forward to . I wish you great success in what you desire but they may come at a price as you well know and expressed.

Much hugs to you and your relationship with My Creator Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the most important thing we should all develop.

I invite you to view the new series of Fighting for Relationships being presented by The Crossing Church, here in las Vegas Nv. You can watch the series being archived on line by Vimeo each week. Come as you are and they should only be about 20 minutes each.

Gods blessings on you my dear.

At first I really LOVED MEGHAN KELLY, but as time went on she seemed to change and became someone I only watch if she is a part of something else that has my interest. Her ‘holier than thou and know it all’ attitude annoys me, so I would love to see FOX replace her with someone more down to earth- someone with integrity.

  22. Sean Fagan says:

Just another Trump hit piece written by some East coast girlie man trying to blow more smoke up the backside of a yellow journalism “reporter” who has lost all journalistic integrity. blah blah blah. One can see why the true backbone of the nation people have lost all trust in the “mainstream” media.

  24. Claude says:

I used to really like Megyn Kelly. However, this whole thing with Trump was intentional and maliciously started by her. She put him on the defensive and she has never let up. What the hell does she expect Trump to is going to respond with? He’s no fool! He isn’t going to give her the satisfaction of getting the best of him, and she don’t like it! As a result, she is the one who has kept this feud alive. Yet, the spin that she and her fellow news co-horts (including this interview) spread, is that Trump is the one who is constantly attacking her! NOPE… He only responds to her after every time she starts in on him. They really must think that we are all fools too, if they don’t think that we can all see this is what has been happening all along.

instead of following the same dull pattern established by the other networks debates… FOX news had a great opportunity to run their debates on an issues focused format, with real questions on important issues that the voters need to know about. No thanks to Megyn Kelly, she immediately started off the first debate with an anti-Trump tirade that turned the entire debate process into a free-for-all circus atmosphere that carried forward throughout the entire debate season. It became the PICK ON TRUMP comedy show. I didn’t find it at all entertaining. What we all witnessed was BULLYING! Pure and simple BULLYING!!!

    • Robert Lee says:

Uh, no, all the candidates got tough questions that night and Trump tried to knock her off the subject and she stuck to her guns and would not let herself be rattled and continued. She did her job and did it well.

  25. Lazzaronii says:

Ohhh geez, I hope she’ll be able to manage… The Highest ratings her show will ever know, and the career bump!! And maybe if she just STOPPED “opening up again and again and again” about” “it,” ppl just might forget?? Ride it, scream it from the rooftops, cash those checks!!!
Don Henley said it best, DIRTY LAUNDRY. We got the bubble head bleach blonde comes on at 5, she can tell ya bout the plain crash with a gleam in her eyes. Love u Megyn!! Get it!!

  26. Nicolas Alvarado says:

Kelly used to be a fantastic host. She decided to be a hard pressing lady and ruined her career. She could have become the next Barbara Walters or Diane Sawyers but she decided to show up her emotions against Trump from the very first debate….no question about it. I watched every show (recorded them) and she was one of my favorites….not anymore. I definetly stopped recording her shows. Fox should find a way to let her go graciously. Her shows and facial expressions are clearly anti Trump and she still does not understand why so many like Trump

  27. Kara says:

I really used to love Megyn Kelly. When she was on with Bill Hemmer in the morning, then had her own show at 2 in the afternoon she was great. I don’t know what happened to her since she has hit prime time but it hasn’t been a positive change, from my point of view. I am not saying that she shouldn’t be proud that The Kelly File is doing well. But, her ego has just been out of control. You don’t have to be a fan of Trump to see that she has gotten, how my grandparents used to say – “too big for her britches”. I think it was happening before she moderated the August 2015 debate. As soon as her show beat the O’Reilly Factor in the ratings one time, she was done for me. I miss the news anchor she used to be and would not be sad to see her leave FOX News. I would wish her the best in whatever she does in the future.
Personally, I feel like Martha McCallum has been overlooked and deserves a shot at her own show. Or perhaps I shouldn’t say this! I like her and don’t want to see the opportunity go to her head like it did with Megyn Kelly! In all seriousness, McCallum is much more my kind of news anchor. In fact, when I find out she is guest hosting on The Kelly File, those are the only times I am excited to watch that show.

  28. Renee Staudt says:

I hope she doesn’t renew her contract. She blows things out of proportion when it comes to women at the expense of others! I’m a woman; I should know.

    • I’m always delighted and looking forward for the KELLY FILE SHOW. I’m fascinated with Megan, i like the way she interrogate ,extract, inform, stated the facts. She is fair, balance and safe. she is an inspiration.

    • Paul P says:

She sounds much more like she is holding back when it comes to women as to not rock the boat at Fox News. Her answers often sound reserved and well considered.

  29. When the host of a news program becomes part of the story – they need to step down. The moderator of the show gives viewers the best look at the truth when viewers sense no personal bias one way or another. Her choppy fast snickering posture of a rabid dog hardly promote open dialogue.
She’s made the mistake of many has-beens , and started believing her own press.

    • Paul P says:

Is she a has-been or are you saying she is in danger of being a has-been? As far a believing one’s own press, she is flanked by O’Reilly and Hannity: both are guilty as charged the past couple decades.

    • Renee Staudt says:

A great choice of words Jerry Isenhart. I agree about the bias and many of the Fox News reporters sadly are the same way. Megan Kelly complains about people against women, but we see her as a person against many people because she thinks her opinion is the only one that matters.

  30. I don’t understand why she is saying he attacks her. I see the total opposite. When his name comes up her claws come out. She is so bias. It is obvious to see when one person does not like another person. When she talks with the other opponents its always Trump being put down. Megyn needs to talk to them and what has been going on in their lives.

    • Robert Lee says:

What? Trump can’t take a tough question? Do you think the Hillary campaign will go soft on Him? No, Kelly simply did her job asking extremely understandable questions of Trump when you consider his past and the things that he, himself, has said.

  31. Outfits99@yahoo.com says:

You started it. And now, YOU survived? You are wrong, you didn’t survive unless you are in denial about the thousands of bad comments wanting you to leave the business.
Like others have said, good riddance.

  32. E Valentino says:

Megyn Kelly has changed. She is so full of herself. I use to look forward to her show, not anymore. Megyn detest Donald Trump, why, she only knows.. Does Trump hate women, NO, I really don’t get that impression.. Women want equal rights and be treated the same as men, yet when they get insulted, they whin like a sissy! Trump insulted Kelly just as he would a man. I see nothing wrong with that! Kelly can’t seem to talk about anything else but Trump, even when she was interviewing Cruz, everything was about Trump. The fact that her tone with Cruz, butter could melt in her mouth. It was nauseating. She has one of the highest paying jobs on Fox, so I say, Megyn put on your big girl panties and stop whining, or stay home and take care of your kids!!

  33. J. Morish says:

Megan Kelly has taken on a different attitude in the past few years. In the very first conference with all the candidates, she came out like a Mother Lion roaring to protecting her cubs. From then on she has been very cold and rude. I was wondering if she felt superior to other news people especialIy the females. I have enjoyed watching Fox, but when Megan comes on I turn Fox off. I miss the old Megan, but it is time for her to take time off, stay home with her Children.
When Megan was interviewing Ted Cruz her attitude was noticable different. Her voice dripped honey and that interview went smooth. However she didn’t have her claws out to destroy Ted, her questions were lite, calm and she didn’t have an attitude.
With Megan and the GOP going after this delegate, he has lost momentum and most likely will not win the election, witch is not her fault. This is sure to cause major problems, because Trump has been ahead of the other delegates from the beginning and steadily stays ahead of the others.
When Mrs. Kelly interviews people she is not fond of, she makes a face and rolls her eyes to show her dislike for that person or the cause he or she represents. This is a major problem and Fox may be looser.
There are other stories Megan could expound on to keep fans interested. Frankly I have heard enough of Cruz, Trump and what’s His name. Sorry, but he is being defiant. And just think we have months to go, before this comes to an end. Well, good luck Fox and Kelly for the future.

  34. Tim Osman says:

Hillary will never agree to an interview. How would it help her? She has so many issues in her past along with the e-mails to expose and she’s not about to let anyone on fox news work her over.
    That being said …TRUMP 2016

  35. Eva Cagle says:

SHE HAS NOT SURVIVED. I STILL HAVE HER SHOW BLOCKED ON MY TV.

  36. Marie Beers says:

I have recorded Megyn’s show for as long as it has been on. Having said that, I am seriously considering stopping. I have watched recently and am trying to be objective….I just wish she was being as objective as I am. Whether I like Trump or not is a whole other story. She clearly has a vendetta against him and what upsets me about that is that it is “her Job” as a “journalist” to be unbiased. What has happened to her? She has changed into someone I no longer recognize. She seems awfully focused on posing for photographs as if she were a model. She is a beautiful woman; but is she beautiful and happens to be a journalist OR a journalist who happens to be beautiful????? If modeling is what you want to do, go for it. But……..if you are the journalist you say you are, then you must stop rolling your eyes at candidate when you don’t like them. Stop spending nearly 3/4 of your show on Donald Trump; your obsession with him is way to obvious. I know there must be something else going on in the world……like all those interesting things you used to report on in your old show. I am sadly disappointed in you Megyn. Enough said.

  37. Hugh Dickson says:

“Brain damage” from a person that said “Jesus Christ was white, just because he was”. Got it!

  38. Janis Simpson says:

Megyn is one we still watch, along with Special Report. The bias for Trump is so disgusting with the rest that I don´t want to hear or see them anymore. They have convinced themselves that they are fair and balanced, but almost the whole of Fox News is very pro-Trump and anti-Cruz, who is our candidate.
Trump has been a trap for them, as their ratings can´t stay up if they are backing a man that most the conservative movement rejects. Their niche audience has been conservatives up until now. I would hate to see Megan go, but certainly understand about her kids, her nerves, her dislike of the presidential race.

  39. Marynelle Vickers says:

Megyn is a beautiful intelligent fair journalist Just amazes me how Trump has besmurched her and hasn’t been called out for it. And how people have turned on Megyn instead of Trump. So proud of all Megyn has accomplished. Hope she doesn’t leave Fox

  40. Ruby McKnight says:

I watch or dvr every show Megyn Kelly is in,smart, talented and beautiful.Extremely fair and has taken alot of flak that she doesn’t deserve!

  41. bobolink says:

Megyn’s problem is herself, not Trump. If she took some cues from Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters, she would never have exercised her evil smirk during the Debates. She is too egotistical to report the “News”. She wants to BE the news.Mr. Trump is helping her in that regard, which is why part of her salary should go to him. All she talks about, in print and on her shows, is him. She always wants to know what her interviewees think of him. She is so obsessed with him, she has lost the credibility she had when The Kelly File began. She trashed her ownself, unfortunately, cut off her own feet by doing the trashybitch act that turns viewers off. She is a tabloid figure now and will one day look back with huge regret at what she threw away when she first turned snarky.

  42. Debbie says:

Megan. Don’t let Donald Trump run you off. The need to run Trump off.

  43. Lundi says:

Megyn Kelly is a trooper !!! I’ve felt so bad for her over the Trump stuff !!! She was doing her job and DT is a baby, bully, & bad skills as a politician !!! He does like women , I’ve never been a feminist and in general think women are treated fairly . What he does is to demean women !!! He still thinks it’s all about him not the American people … And Shirley G. You are ridiculous

  44. Shirley Gentry says:

Can’t wait till Megyn Kelly is gone from Fox. She is not the Megyn who we loved in her early years. Now that she went to Prime time, she feels important and as old people said when zi was growing up “don’t gst above your raising”

Cancelled my cable so I wouldn’t come across her show. Saw this article and just had to comment, something I rarely ever do

    • johnny g morris says:

I didn’t cancel my service but I simply don’t watch her anymore. I don’t agree with their politics but CNN has Much better election coverage as does FAUX news!

  45. Megyn, don’t let this obnoxous bully shove you around, 3 wives later, it’s obvious how he treats women, I watch you every night, right after the Donald Tramp show on O’Reilly, The only sane one on there is Charles Krauthammer. O’Reilly is a genuine asshole just like Grump!

  46. Carolyn Meeker says:

I love Megyn Kelly for her honesty, intelligence, wit and strength!

  47. Charles Savoie says:

“You called women you don’t like….”

It’s not misogyny to insult women one doesn’t like any more than it’s misandry to insult men one doesn’t like. Articles like this one perpetuate inequality and discrimination by promoting the false viewpoint that any insult given any woman anytime is an insult against all women. This false view raises women to a higher class free of scrutiny or criticism, which is antithetical to equality and ultimately destructive to it.

  48. diane kern says:

A valid question for you, Megyn is this: Do you remember a night on your show when you adamantly criticized CNBC debate moderators for becoming part of the story? At the time, you said a reputable journalist should never make themselves part of the story. Case in point, that is exactly what you did in your feud with Trump by opening your debate with a totally inappropriate question that was designed for sensationalism. When you criticized CNBC moderators for the same thing you had done, you acted condescending and judgemental, above the fray. What say you?

  49. Megyn…..please grow your hair back. With the conflict between you and politics and the change in your ‘look,’ I find it tough to follow you anymore.

  50. Mary Lee says:

My husband refuses to watch Megyn anymore. She is just saying she might not come back to Fox to get more money. Maybe she should stay home with her husband and children and give us a break. He has started watching CNN.
