The candidates who qualify for the event will be announced on Jan. 11 on “Lou Dobbs Tonight.” Candidates must place in the top six nationally, based on an average of the five most recent national polls, or place in the top five in Iowa or New Hampshire, based on an average of state polls there.
Cavuto and Bartiromo will moderate the main debate, while Regan and Smith will oversee an “undercard” earlier debate with candidates who fell short of qualifying for the main stage. Those contenders must still register at least 1% in the five most recent national polls.
The debate will take place at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center in North Charleston, S.C.
This will be the second primary debate for Fox Business, which hosted an event in November that drew a record 13.5 million viewers.
Dobbs will host a one-hour special before the “undercard” debate and appear later in the coverage.
