As season six of “Game of Thrones” fast approaches, a new teaser debuted this weekend, and with it, a bit of new footage. And one thing is for certain: there will be death.
The teaser skips ruminating and goes head-first into the action, narrated by Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister.
“Are you afraid? You should be. You’re in the great game now. And the great game is terrifying,” he says in the clip.
“One way or another, a face will be added to the hall,” says Jaqen H’ghar of the Faceless Men (Tom Wlaschiha) referring to the Hall of Faces that the February trailer focused on.
The High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) also leaves an ominous message: “We are sinful creatures. We deserve death… we all do.”
While HBO does recycle previously released footage in the 30-second promo, there’s some new shots, too — including one of the Night’s King, the leader of the White Walkers, surrounded by flames. Drogon can also be seen flying over the Dothraki clan that captured Daenerys.
To say the next season is highly anticipated would be an understatement — the last trailer, released earlier this month, broke a record for an HBO trailer launch, with 30 million views in the first 24 hours.
Season six of “Game of Thrones” debuts April 24 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
