Donald Trump said that he will participate in the next Fox News debate on March 3, with Megyn Kelly joining Bret Baier and Chris Wallace as moderators.

According to the Hill, Trump told Newsmax’s “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Friday that he will be at the Detroit debate and added, “I have no objection to being there.”

Trump skipped the last GOP debate in Des Moines, objecting to the inclusion of Kelly as moderator, whom he said treated him unfairly at the initial debate in August. But Fox News refused to back down, saying that candidates could not dictate who the moderators were. After finishing second to Ted Cruz in the Iowa caucus, Trump acknowledged this week that skipping the debate may have given an opening to rivals, while pointing out that he instead held an event at the same time that raised $6 million for veterans groups.

In his interview on Friday, according to the Hill, Trump insisted he “did the right thing” in skipping the debate while saying that it “had nothing to do with Megyn Kelly,” even though he lashed out at her in advance of the caucuses, even tweeting his objections about her.

Instead, he said that he was upset over a memo “that was sent out by Fox that was a little bit taunting and I said it was inappropriate.” The statement mocked his complaints over unfair treatment, noting that if he were president, he would have to meet with “the ayatollah and Putin,” who also would treat him unfairly.
