FX has renewed “Archer” for three additional eight-episode seasons. The move will carry the animated comedy through Season 10. The eighth season, the first covered under the extension, is set to premiere in 2017.

Floyd County Productions, the company behind the show, has also signed a new overall deal with FX Networks.

“We can’t say enough about what Adam, Matt and the entire Archer team at Floyd County have done to keep this series so insanely funny and vital through seven seasons,” said Nick Grad, president of original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions. “The move to Los Angeles this past season as private detectives was just the latest twist in Archer’s legendary exploits and the next three seasons will to be just as amazing and unpredictable. We are thrilled to continue making great TV with our friends and colleagues at Floyd County.”

  8. Fernando says:

Only because it’s so cheap to produce. Otherwise it would have been cancelled during the first season. I say: let’s make room for better productions.

Cheap or not, it’s still an entertaining and enjoyable show. It might not be up-to-par in terms of quality from earlier seasons but it’s still watchable, which is more than can be said from other shows with a long life spans or “better production”. I say: stick to your Teen Mom re-runs.

  9. Wish Fx could have kept Justified for 10 yrs

  10. Would have been really pissed off if that final scene of season 7 was the final scene of the whole series. :)

Brilliant news! Consistently one of the funniest shows on TV for all 7 years.
