Fans of “American Horror Story” can now spend a night in Murder House… for a price.
The home at the center of the first season of FX’s horror anthology series can now be booked on Airbnb. The mansion, which can accommodate more than 16 people and features nine bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, runs for $1450 per night. The austere-looking building has appeared in other shows including “The X-Files,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “The Twilight Zone.”
The house is more than just a staple for scary TV shows. The Alfred Rosenheim Mansion was built in 1908 and is one of the most important estates ever built in Los Angeles – having been declared both a historical and cultural landmark. With over 100 years of haunted history, the estate has been home to various residents including actor Edward Everett Horton.
Some Airbnb users have given the rental rave reviews.
“The house was fantastic: Full of history and carrying her scars and scratches from a long and eventful life with pride,” said one reviewer. “Beds, blankets and linens were top class, kitchen well equipped and our party of five made good use of it, both for relaxation and as an alternative meeting place with colleagues from Hollywood. If you are looking for something soulful, and do not expect everything to be brand new and shiny, this place is it.”
