Melissa Etheridge has been added to the program for the ASCAP “I Create Music” Expo, taking place April 28-30 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter will fortify a bill that includes Charles Kelley, who has written for Lady Antebellum; another Grammy winner, Dan Wilson (Adele’s “Someone Like You”); as well as Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas and reality TV composer David Vanacore.

Their appearances at the 11th annual conference are meant to give attendees an inside look at their respective career paths to songwriting success.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers also announced that singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega will perform on opening night during its “Writers in the Round” show, while the duo R. City (Miley Cyrus’ “We Can’t Stop”) will join the closing day “Writers Jam.”

Other activities will include a panel on music collaboration with WAX LTD, the production team that has worked with the Rolling Stones, New Order and Best Coast, and the Futuristics, who wrote and produced “We Own It” from “Fast & Furious.” Songwriter Sam Hook (Chris Brown’s “4 Years Old”) joins the “Hit Songwriter” panel.

Also included will be a Master Sessions with Pat Benatar and guitarist/partner Neil Giraldo, an attendee song feedback session with Desmond Child, and an interview with Salt-N-Pepa.
