Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem to Headline FYF Fest

Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala and Grace Jones will headline this summer’s FYF Fest, the music festival announced Tuesday.

Now in its 13th year, the Los Angeles festival will also feature performances from Air, ANOHNI, Beach House, Blood Orange, DIIV, Explosions in the Sky, Father John Misty, Floating Points, Gold Panda, Grimes, Head Wound City, Hop Along, Hot Chip, Julia Holter, Kelela, Moby, Oneohtrix Point Never, Peter Bjorn and John, Rae Sremmurd, Saves The Day, Sheer Mag, Shellac, Todd Terje & the Olsens, Ty Segall & the Muggers, Viet Cong, Vince Staples, Wild Nothing, Wolf Parade, Boogie, Chelsea Wolfe and Young Thug.

FYF Fest will unfold August 27-28 in Los Angeles’ Exposition Park. Last year’s headliners included Kanye West, Morrissey, Bloc Party and D’Angelo.

Lamar was nominated for 11 Grammys this year, and won in categories including best rap performance (for “Alright,” a track from his album), best rap/sung collaboration (for “These Walls,” a cut with Bilal, Anna Wise and Thundercat) and shared in the best rap song award (with Kawan Prather, Mark Anthony Spears and Pharrell Williams) for “Alright.”

LCD Soundsystem is making a comeback after splitting in 2009. The electro/alt rockers will also headline Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April, along with Guns N’ Roses (also reuniting) and Calvin Harris. They’re also set to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago July 28 to 31, alongside Radiohead and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
