Eagles guitarist, vocalist and founding member Glenn Frey died Monday at the age of 67, and it didn’t take long for Hollywood and the music community alike to voice their condolences on social media.

Figures from Steve Martin to Carole King mourned his death, which was due to complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia, said the band in a statement. More tributes will undoubtedly continue to pour out on Monday as news spreads.

Don Henley issued a statement about Frey on Monday, writing, “Glenn was the one who started it all. He was the spark plug, the man with the plan. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of popular music and a work ethic that wouldn’t quit.”

So sorry to hear of Glen’s passing. He was my favorite member of The Eagles and wrote their best songs. Saw him perform twice in Montreal. Lying Eyes was my favorite song. We will miss you Glen. I pray you are in a better place.

Love you Glenn Frey!! And so does my Dad. He always plays “One of These Nights” for my mom :) And he made me watch your documentary on Netflix/Amazon a few moths ago. So so grateful for you music. You’re already missed. (Though I’m guessing everybody’s beyond thrilled out of their minds to have you up there playing music in heaven. I can totally see Jesus rocking out to you right now!! I’m kinda jealous….) #GREATEST BAND EVER #restinpeace #godblessalways #listeningrightnow #tequilasunrise 🍹🌅 💜
