Goteborg: Svensk Filmindustri Taps Tim King, Lars Bredo Rahbek

Aiming to strengthen its local and international production activities, leading Nordic shingle Svensk Filmindustri has tapped Tim King as exec VP of production and Lars Bredo Rahbek as head of production of Denmark.

King’s appointment is effective immediately while Rahbek’s will be effective on March 1st.

Tim King is an Australian exec who’s mostly worked as VP of operations for Polygon. “SF has a strong foundation of creative and commercial talent in both Denmark and Sweden as well as in Norway and Finland, which we’re planning to build on to grow in both domestic and international markets,” said King.

Lars Bredo Rahbek, a former key producer at Nimbus Film since 1997, has been behind local pics like “Flame & Citron,” “Superclassico” and “What No One Knows.”

“Having for the past few years enjoyed a close and highly constructive working relationship with their brilliant distribution team, I look forward to joining the production business to pursue the company’s ambitions for a strong and visible European presence,” said Rahbek.

Lars will report to Tim, who in turn will report to Jonas Fors, Svensk Filmindustri’s CEO.
