“Fifty Shades of Grey’s” Dakota Johnson will star opposite Andrew Garfield in “Under the Silver Lake.” The film is directed by David Robert Mitchell, who caused a stir with last year’s low-budget horror hit, “It Follows.”

A24 acquired domestic rights to the thriller out of Cannes this week. Production is slated to begin in Los Angeles the summer.

Johnson will reprise her role as Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed,” both of which are currently filming. She is currently starring in Luca Guadagnino’s “A Bigger Splash” opposite Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes and Matthias Schoenaerts. Other credits include “How To Be Single” and “Black Mass.”

Michael De Luca, who worked with Johnson on “Fifty Shades of Grey,” is producing under his Michael De Luca Productions banner. Chris Bender, Jake Weiner and Adele Romanski are also producing.

Johnson is represented by WME and attorney PJ Shapiro.

Good for Dakota! She deserves greatness especially having to deal with her costar’s nasty fans! Great actress building her resume and making a good name for herself. Congrats!

Boooooooooo!!!!! Johnson is a truly terrible actress who cannot emote to save her life. Up until now, I had been looming forward to this project. But with Johnson being involved now,.I think it’s a good time to cut and run.

    • JDFANSSUCK says:

How were you “looming forward to this project” when 1. it was JUST announced, 2. not much details as to what the story will be about, 3, go back under your rock hater!

    • Yuck says:

    • YouMadBro says:

It’s really funny how you are following all her recent news bitter Jamie Dormat. You mad that you can’t even get a role to save your life? I am still laughing how you got cut from a movie and what a horrific actor you are working today. You’re an embarrassment to the craft of moving making. You’re truly trash you and your fans.
