Until recently, Setuain served as head of international sales at Lagardere Active’s Boomerang TV, a leading producer-distributor in the booming Spanish TV fiction sector.
Like many other key Spanish film and TV executives, she took her early professional steps at Prisa’s distribution company Sogepaq, before joining Imagina International Sales in 2008, to head IIS’ then-new film division.
IIS forms part of powerful Spanish multimedia conglom the Imagina group, which Jaume Roures’ Barcelona-based right broker Mediapro co-founded in 2006 alongside Spain’s top TV drama producer, Globomedia.
Setuain’s appointment forms part of an strategy “aimed at boosting the activities carried out by IIS in the 30 offices the group operates in four continents,” the company said in a statement Monday.
Referring to her new post, Setuain said that she felt “excited to join such a fantastic team, which will put in the market all the ambitious, first-class projects Imagina is preparing.”
IIS currently offers a 300-title catalog, including TV series such as the Globomedia-produced women prison drama “Locked Up,” successfully broadcast by Atresmedia in Spain; Alex de la Iglesia’s soccer documentary “Messi”; and docu series “Naranjito y yo,” about an amazing round-the-world trip by young Spanish adventurer Jorge Sierra.
