Oscar‐Nominated Director Felix van Groeningen to Serve as Future Frames Mentor

'Belgica' will screen at Karlovy Vary Film Festival

LONDON — Belgian director Felix van Groeningen is to serve as a mentor to the young filmmakers taking part in European Film Promotion’s Future Frames program at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

Van Groeningen was Oscar‐nominated for “The Broken Circle Breakdown” in 2014, and won best director at the Sundance Film Festival this year for “Belgica,” which played in Sundance’s World Cinema — Dramatic section. “Belgica” will also screen at Karlovy Vary.

Van Groeningen will deliver a masterclass as part of Future Frames’ intensive program, which runs June 3-5. Future Frames will introduce the 10 emerging filmmakers to the media and the film industry at Karlovy Vary, and present their work to the festival audience.
