IFC Midnight has acquired U.S. rights to “Carnage Park,” a horror-thriller about a 1978 kidnapping that is now playing at South by Southwest, Variety has learned.

The film, written and directed by Michael Keating, follows a woman (Ashley Bell) who is held hostage by two bank robbers, only to find herself on the property of a psychotic military sniper (Pat Healy), who poses an even greater threat on her life.

“Carnage Park” was produced by Eric B. Fleischman and Sean Tabibian. It first screened in the Midnight section of the Sundance Film Festival in January, before arriving at SXSW this week.
