Twitter has hired Leslie Berland, a top marketing exec with American Express, as chief marketing officer.

CEO Jack Dorsey announced her appointment Tuesday, coming amid a broader management shakeup at the social-media company.

“Welcoming @leslieberland to Twitter! She will join as our CMO to help tell the stories of our iconic product!,” Dorsey said in a tweet.

Berland most recently was exec VP of global advertising, marketing and digital partnerships at American Express.

On Sunday, Twitter confirmed the departure of four top execs: product chief Kevin Weil, head of media Katie Stanton, SVP of engineering Alex Roetter and VP of HR Skip Schipper. The company reportedly has picked Nathan Hubbard, most recently Twitter’s VP of commerce and former CEO of Ticketmaster, to head the media team on an interim basis with Stanton’s exit.
